The big news is the opening of a chippy at the end of our road. Is this good or bad news? On the one hand it's great, because fish and chips is one of my most favouritest meals. But that's why it's bad news too. So far I have resisted the lure of the haddock and chips (save the cod!), unlike the local kids who seem to have adopted it as their second home. Any hopes of avoiding couch potato status seem doomed to failure in this area.
Saturday night will be the clincher. It's open until one in the morning so I'm expecting late night kebab fights and lots of salad on the front door step - why do people ask for it and then dump it straight on to the street? Actually, it could be worse than salad depending on the quality of the kebabs. We shall see.
